The MDP - An Introduction

We invite you to consider entering an adventure with God and missions personnel!

The Missionary Development Program (MDP) is a plan to help you discern your calling, and if you are called to be a missionary, to prepare for missions service.

  • The MDP is self-paced. You proceed at your own rate from you own home.
  • It is incremental, with a series of steps or “milestones.”
  • It provides systematic tracking. You report to us on your progress.
  • It is a flexible. We adapt the program to your particular situation.

The MDP has three levels, with elements of study, assessment and practical experience in each level.

You will be assigned a mentor, who meets with you regularly, serving as a coach, advisor and encourager on a personal level. You will also have a liaison, who is a contact person for you regarding the overall plan of the MDP.

The mentors and liaisons have experience in Christian ministry in general and missions service in particular. You will be enriched, encouraged and challenged by your interaction with these gifted people.

The liaisons meet regularly to review the progress being made by the participants in the program. As a group, they constitute the Missionary Development Team (MDT).

What about cost? There is no cost to participate in this program. You may, however, buy any of the books you wish. Otherwise, we will lend you the books from our library. You will need to pay the cost of The Perspectives Course, which is $350 at the present time.
