About Doreen…

I’m married to Robert DeMaio, who is a very gifted piano player. My ministry passion is worship – play keyboard and guitar and have led worship, sang in choirs, etc. God has blessed me by using my administrative gifts and letting me work for ministries to earn a living.

I’m a CPA candidate who recently completed my MBA in Atlanta Ga. where I’ve been living for the past 20 years. I was raised in Huntington Mills, Pa, which is near Wilkes-Barre, Pa and am glad to come back home to Pa.

I have worked for Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training in Norcross Ga. (They train Christian Leaders in non-western countries to train their own people for ministry and evangelism.) I visited a BIC church in Georgia called Grace Community and found out about this position while checking out the website. The BICWM staff is very nice and Christ centered. I know God will use my talents and giftings in this position and I will learn and be stretched.

In my free time, I love to play with my dogs, swim, camp, and go exploring by taking rides. Haven’t had much free time in awhile!

About Sandy…

I’ve lived all my life in the Carlisle, Pa. area. I became a Christian due to the influence of a Sunday school teacher at the age of 13. I was blessed to be mentored by her all through high school. After graduating from Boiling Springs High School, I went to Messiah College where I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education.

My husband Dale and I have been married for 37 years. We have two sons, Phillip and Matthew and a daughter, Hannah, married to Todd Gearhart. They have blessed us with a grandson Jadon, and the expectation of a new grandson’s arrival in October. It was during my time at Messiah that I met my husband Dale who grew up at Carlisle BIC Church. We worked with the youth and children’s ministry there.

Due to my involvement with the youth, I became active in the Teens for Missionary Service program. Our daughter, Hannah became interested in missions due to this program and I in turn learned more about what BICWM was doing through her. I also worked with the Ladies Missionary Prayer Fellowship group at our church and I am currently on the Missions Leadership team there.

I’ve had a desire to work in the area of missions since I was a teenager. Since then my life has had some exciting turns of working with children, youth and some short term mission’s trips. I’ve been working in the area of billing for some years now. Some members of my small group, heard about the need for the financial assistant at BICWM, knew of my interest in missions, and encouraged me to check it out. I had been praying all this while that if God wanted me to go in a different job direction, He would bring it to me. Well, He did!!!

I love working with people as a team. Mission’s is an aspect of life that needs different people to accomplish a big task.

I enjoy crafts such as quilting and scrapbooking and I also enjoy reading. My favorite pastime is playing with my grandson!
