Ken Letner serves the church as the bishop of the Susquehanna Conference. A graduate of Messiah College, Ken first became involved with the Brethren in Christ when he joined the ministry team of the Skyline View congregation (Harrisburg, PA) in 1973, serving as the church's part-time youth pastor for two years.
After earning his Master of Divinity from Ashland Seminary in 1978, Ken spent four years as the pastor for youth and Christian education at Lancaster (PA) BIC Church, during which time he was active in establishing what we now know as YouthQuest, the denominational youth conference.
Prior to his appointment as bishop in 2002, Ken served for 11 years as the senior pastor of Cedar Grove BIC Church in Mifflintown, PA, where he still attends. Ken is passionate about listening to the Holy Spirit, and believes strongly that prayer must be the backbone of all we do as a church.
The parents of three grown children, Ken and his wife, Linda, live in Mifflintown, PA, and have two grandchildren. A lover of life, people and dogs, Ken's interests also include tennis, golf, gardening, reality & not-so-reality films and TV. |
