Book Having served with Brethren in Christ World Missions for 23 years in four different countries, I bring experience, diversity and passion for ministry. My education of a BA from Messiah College and a M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary prepared me well for the challenges of mission’s ministry in discipleship and pastoral leadership development during our years in missions. Added to that, I am bilingual in Spanish and English and have ministerial credentials with the Brethren in Christ Church. Upon our return to the States (with my wife Leslie), I felt the need to go back to school. So in 2007, I finished a Masters of Theology degree in intercultural studies from Asbury, and since then have been working as pastor of missions at The Rock La Roca United Methodist Church in Lexington Kentucky while Leslie finishes up her MSW degree from University of Kentucky. In this multi-cultural church my work has been focused on the development of our Latino congregation and with the urban poor in areas of discipleship, financial assistance and administration. Leslie and I expect to move back to Pennsylvania in the summer of 2008. I am looking for a pastoral/teaching ministry in which I use my gifts and zeal for God and the faith community. References:
Position of interest: Director of Children's MinistryPreferred Job Status: Full Time Brief Description of qualifications: I am currently working towards acquiring a CDA (Child Development Associates certificate). I have 2 years experience with the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit, working with children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old. These children have emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. During the past two summers I worked for the Lancaster Recreational Department as a counselor at a city day camp. I am currently working at the Hildebrand Learning Center in Leola. During this time I have been in charge of planning the daily activities for students as well as organizing the staff under me. I have been active in the Brethren in Christ Church my whole life and I am a currently a member of The Table Community Church in Lancaster, PA. I served as the president of the Xtreme Youth Ministry at Pequea BIC and served on the planning team for two years. As a part of this team, I helped manage a $40,000 budget and planned many activities for a youth group with over 100 members. I have volunteered many years for Bible school and children's church programs. During the summer of 2007 I served as a children's ministry intern at Marsh Creek BIC. I have also volunteered as a youth leader at the Table Church. I have a heart for children and their growth in Christ. I am committed to developing a children's ministry that is both fun, and safe; that creates relationships and builds faith. I graduated with a concentration in personal and spiritual formation and marriage and family therapy. I've served in various ministies and two internships, one at Redland Valley BIC in Lewisberry PA-- while doubly serving as janitor, I worked with the worship team and the youth and served in various ways while they were in between pastors. I feel I know BIC churches from the bottom up. Currently I attend Grantham BIC Church with my wife, Polly, and soon to be first child. Preferred Job Status: Any Brief Description of qualifications: I am currently the youth pastor of Horizon Community Church in Oklahoma City. I would like to get involved with a church that could give me some urban city exposure. I have a passion for seeing people grow closer to God and an inner city if possible. I graduated from Asbury College May 9 of 2004 with a Bible and Theology degree. In June this year I was married to my beautiful bride Heather who has graduated from EBC with a B.Re. in Counseling Studies. We are looking for a place to serve in ministry together. I am currently the High School Ministry Team Leader at Country Hills Church, Kitchener, ON and have been here for two years.
