Following this year's theme, "Fresh ministry for a changing church," the conference will explore effective ways to translate the timeless truths of Christianity into the language and culture of our day—making sure that our faith doesn't get lost in the process. Hans Finzel, author and leadership expert, will serve as the the speaker for each of the plenary sessions. And this year, for the first time, attendees have the opportunity to earn lifelong learning credits through discussion times at the retreat and some directed reading. The BIC MInistry Enrichment Retreat runs from July 9–12, 2007 at the Westin Hotel & Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Costs for the conference include registration ($60), three nights' lodging, and meals, and are as follows:
Attendees traveling more than 500 miles one way may apply for a $100 subsidy per person. In order to be eligible for the subsidy, applicants are expected to attend the entire retreat, and must register and pay their deposit by May 1, 2007. Other financial assistance may be available through regional conference offices. All pastoral staff members and their spouses (not just senior pastors) are strongly encouraged to attend.
