Rob Patterson, bishop of the Allegheny Conference, calls BIC Church of North America to join in prayer on Sept. 14

GRANTHAM, Pa. (August 29, 2008) – Rob Patterson, bishop of the Allegheny Conference and the denomination’s point-person for prayer, is calling Brethren in Christ churches from across North America to a church-wide day of corporate prayer and fasting on Sunday, September 14. He has identified four urgent concerns as a beginning focus for the day. These are:

• Thanksgiving for the faithful life of the late Ken Letner, bishop of the Susquehanna Conference, and prayers for peace for his family and the Susquehanna Conference
  
• L.M., a BICWM missionary in Southeast Asia, and his family during his ongoing battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease)
  
• Our brothers and sisters in the BIC Church in Zimbabwe who are facing extreme economic hardship
