Two Months and Counting for Cooperative Ministries

If giving by BIC congregations continues at the current pace through the end of the calendar year, 2005 will be a strong year for Cooperative Ministries and for the General Church.

With two months to go in the current giving cycle, congregational contributions to CM total $2,342,746 or 74.1% percent of our $3,162,627 goal. Gifts from individuals and funds for products and services round out the income side of the General Church’s ministry $4,392,421 spending plan.

Commenting on congregational giving to date, Rebekah Basinger, director of congregational relations, notes that in the US, 227 churches (94.5%) are participating in CM. “For that we say thank you and praise God,” she states.

Even as the Stewardship team keeps a watchful eye on year-end giving, work is underway on print and electronic materials for CM 2006. Case statement brochures have been mailed to all US churches and a PowerPoint presentation for use with church councils is available for download.

“In 2006, we are highlighting impact multiplied as BIC come together as a community of believers who worship and obey God and share the Good News of Jesus with all people,” Rebekah explains. “We’re inviting congregations to imagine with us what God can do with the dollars we entrust to His work through Cooperative Ministries.”

You can track CM giving as weekly updates are posted on this web site.
