Guidelines for Pastoral/Employee Health Insurance
Adopted by Leadership Council for Brethren in Christ Churches, USA
It is recommended that every congregation provide the following or equivalent health insurance for their pastors and eligible employees. These guidelines mirror the present Brotherhood Health Plan.
Medical coverage with at least:
- 90/70 in network/out of network coverage (i.e., insurance plan pays 90%, pastor pays 10% co-insurance if using in-network doctors; 70% is paid for by insurance, 30% is paid by pastor if out of network doctors
- $3,000/$6,000 maximum out of pocket or $6,000/$12,000 max for out of network doctors (A maximum out of pocket would be deductible + co-insurance paid, $3,000/individual, $6,000/family, or $6,000/individual, $12,000/family)
- Unlimited lifetime maximum benefit
- Three-tiered (generic/preferred brand/non-preferred brand) formulary RX benefit with mail-order option for three-month ordering
- Dental coverage
