How will the BIC look in 2020?

As Brethren in Christ, we are a dynamic people, always finding new ways to better serve God and others in the language of today. Last August, a group of 35 BIC pastors and church leaders took part in an event called Emerge ’05, with the goal of developing leaders for the future.

In a free exchange of perceptions and ideas, the group discussed a range of issues related to how the Brethren in Christ can partner most effectively to impact the world for Jesus Christ as we move toward the year 2020 and beyond.

Throughout the discussions certain themes and issues emerged, including the shared view of the church as a movement, yet one with intentional, measurable goals. Nearly one year after Emerge ’05, some action steps toward these outcomes and challenges are now visible, as outlined in the document below.
