Follow the Rules

New Hope BIC (Harrisburg, PA) held their new facility grand opening celebration on January 8. Reaching their community is a significant aspect of their vision and they plan for another two months of events that will introduce the community to the church’s new building. In preparation, they shared these “New Building Rules” for their congregation (and the rest of us) to consider.

1. Do not let your child run down the hallways (without telling them Jesus loves them).
2. Do not carry juice into the multi-purpose room (without offering someone else a cup).
3. Do not stand on the new chairs (without standing on the promises of God).
4. Do not raise your voice in the sanctuary (without joy in your heart).
5. Do not leave the kitchen a mess (without feeding the hungry first).
6. Do not track dirt onto the carpet (without offering to wash a few feet).
7. Do not leave the lights on in the building (without taking Christ’s light with you when you leave).
8. Do not bring your old junk to the building (without surrendering your burden to Jesus).
9. Do not touch the walls (without pushing them out into the community).
10. Do not enter the pastor’s office (without bringing pie).
