ECHOES

“Since my family cannot read, my parents have been cheated many times by the landlord dishonestly adjusting paperwork. Now, whenever I go home, my father asks me to read before he signs with his thumbprint. These days, the landlord cannot cheat my parents. This is all because of the SPICE hostel.”

—Urmila Urawn, one of the nearly 1,000 children who are part of the Sponsorship Program for International Children's Education (SPICE)
