What's It All About? Best Practices

Congregations share their ideas

Read the comments of pastor Doug Miller of Hershey (PA) BIC Church who wrote to the Atlantic Conference office after his church complete What's It All About in January 2006.

Montoursville BIC used WIAA September 11-October 2, 2005 and, says Sherri Hartshaw, "really had a positive response in attendance and participation. Many people used the daily devotions and our Sunday School attendance was up as well." Montoursville used the sample sermons and adapted the small group lessons for their middle school class They also had children's object lessons each week during the morning worship. (see www.sermons4kids.com and type 'stewardship' in the search box; plus, see the links below).   "Jesus, Lover of my Soul" (It's all about You, Jesus) was their theme song each week.  They played it after the sermon the third week as a time of rededication. Montoursville finished their campaign with a communion service.

The children's ministry team presented the following messages for children during the worship service each Sunday.

Week 1 - The God of the Impossible

Week 2 - Where is Your Heart?

Week 3 - The Gift of Giving

Week 4 - A Fool and His Money

Montoursville adapted the devotionals for each week into the following lessons for Middle School-aged classes.
