M202r Pastoral Care and Counseling I
The focus of this required course is to learn and practice the fundamental counseling skills necessary for effectively listening, communicating, and being pastorally present with people. You will also gain tools for helping people who are experiencing grief, loss, crises, relationship problems, and other concerns. Hospital visitation, ethical and legal issues, making good referrals, and avoiding burnout will additionally be examined. This course is a prerequisite for M203.
