World Missions
Rev. S.H. and Bro. G.S. from Nepal ask for prayer for the BIC Church that is under a terrible
threat. They were asked by Madeci militants to pay five lakhs rupees or else militants will place a
bomb in the hostel and office buildings. The Office staff and local believers are very worried and
terrified. Please pray for Nepal.
Praise God for the year of service given by our intern in Madrid and pray for his safe return to the
U.S. this week. Pray that as he contacts others in the Great Lakes Conference who are listening
for God’s call to missions, they will be encouraged, will hear His voice and will obey.
Pray for our language learners in the Middle East as they interact with English language students,
carry some leadership roles in team meetings and Sunday worship, and prepare for the arrival of a new baby. They desire prayer for 100 percent health and perseverance and acceleration in language learning.
Pray for the two Priority One teams as they return home from Honduras and Bahamas on
Saturday. Praise God for their work with children’s clubs (Honduras) and Haitian immigrant (Bahamas). Pray that their debrief will confirm God’s work in their lives and help them discern direction for future service. Pray for the Priority One staff as they train young workers to bring
glory to God.
Praise God for the safe arrival of the Newcomers in Zimbabwe and the peace of God in their
hearts. Pray for the continued need for food and medical supplies. Jake and Nancy Shenk write
that our mission hospitals are not receiving any grants and that the hospital people frequently go
to the Shenks to find funds to buy food and supplies so they can continue to operate. Pray for a
break in the oppressive government stranglehold.
The family on furlough ministry from Malawi praise God for opportunities to share in churches
and for God’s help in developing a tentative plan for their next term. They are excited about the
possibilities for kingdom impact. Pray for a renewed infilling of the Holy Spirit for service, God’s
guidance for the timing of their return to Malawi, and continued healing from the violence they
experienced.
Pray with Ben and Eunice Stoner over the goals for this year: baptize fifteen new people, disciple
ten people in evangelism, develop three home groups with Navajo leadership, have ten home groups by year end, have large-group meetings initiated and led by Navajos, have quarterly
church planting movement prayer gatherings, and take five men through Restored Warriors.
Pray for God’s power to be seen.
Praise God with Mim Stern that the Lord has provided a knowledgeable man on the premises of
Philadelphia House. Pray for Jesse Ruhl, a lawyer, who has moved in to be the director and has
already started some needed changes. Pray for current residents as they learn English, work on
educational projects and hear of Jesus. Pray for wisdom as requests come in for housing for the
new school year.
Pray for the health and spiritual strength of all team members that our missionary family works
with in the Near East. Pray for our missionaries as many opportunities for service are opening and
they need to hear clearly from God as to which they should accept. Pray that they will stay focused on the path God has for them. Pray that seeds being planted will bring forth new life.
Praise God that our intern in southeast Asia has survived a bout with dengue fever. He credits
prayer with his rapid improvement. Pray for complete recovery. Thank God for all the visitors to
the hospital and to his room. Pray that everyone will sense his trust in God and will want to know
his Savior.

at the Vital Signs material to evaluate the congregation, and as the newly formed Leadership Team begins their partnership.
Pray for the strengthening of relationships in our group and for new connections to be made. Pray for Pastor Ken Abell as he will be doing a short presentation at Missions Day today at Memorial Holiness Camp (OH) regarding the work at Beavercreek (OH) and putting out a challenge and workers will respond to the call. Pray for upcoming newspaper advertising in the help wanted section and that Ken will have wisdom and discernment in writing the ad.
