In 50 years, Brethren in Christ Bible quizzing has inspired young people to study, memorize, and absorb the Bible’s truths. Quizzing combines Scripture memory, fast reflexes, and teamwork for a unique competitive program that continues to unite youth all across North America.
Quiz meets typically consist of five to eight twenty-question quizzes, with two teams of four students competing against each other to be the first to “jump” from their seats to recite the verses they’ve memorized. Each quiz consists of a set number of reference, memory, phrase and interrogative questions on the book or books of the New Testament that have been selected for the current season. This year, quizzers are focusing on the books of Romans and James.
In the early days of quizzing, teams relied on judges who had the nearly impossible task of determining who jumped first. Although quizzers now use electronic equipment for this purpose, the goal of quizzing remains the same: to facilitate Bible learning, healthy competition, and strong friendships between BIC young people across the U.S. and Canada.
