Brethren in Christ Positions
Throughout its more than 200-year history, the Brethren in Christ Church has declared its kinship with the followers of Jesus Christ of all times and every place. We confess with them the historic Christian faith as embodied in the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed. At the same time, Brethren in Christ faith and doctrine has been characterized by distinctive views on a number of points.
Over time, the Church has stated its position on many of these theological particularities in writing. In addition, the Brethren in Christ have adopted official statements that provide a unique perspective rooted in the Anabaptist, Pietist, and Wesleyan traditions of the Christian church on cultural and public policy issues that are of particular interest and/or concern to persons in BIC congregations.
